Wow!

This is it! The last official blog for the 2017-2018 school year. We have all worked hard this year and have a lot to celebrate. So many of our students have made great strides! Thank you to our teachers and parents for helping to make this a successful year. As we prepare for our final days of school, please pay close attention to the dates and times of the upcoming events.

I have been notified by several parents that the link provided on the Summer School registration form is not operational. If your child was selected to participate in Summer School, please go to the following link to register: bit.ly/MS2018SUMMERREGISTRATION

If you are unable to access this link, please contact Ms. Tolbert. It is imperative that your child gets
registered before Wednesday, May 16th. Please note that unless you have been notified that your child
can not participate in the end of the year celebrations, your child will be allowed to attend the events.

If you are available any time next week and would like to join us as we pack for our new home, please sign up in the front office. Your help would be greatly appreciated! On the same note, we are on schedule to move June 11th. I have not received a definite date for demolition however I will share this information as soon as it is communicated to me. Your voices were heard and I understand the importance of ensuring that you are well informed of our relocation plans. I want to remind you all of a powerful statement made by Mrs. Gaertig," WE (STUDENTS, TEACHERS, AND PARENTS) are the HEART of the building." Therefore, we WILL remain positive about our move to Old Gaines and move with heart! Just think, we will be the first middle school to occupy the space, prove that we can persevere, and make great things happen! We can do it!

As we say goodbye to the 2017-2018 school year, please know that it has been my pleasure to serve as your leader. I look forward to the work that we will do next school year as we continue to grow together. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!

Respectfully,

Principal Tolbert

Week of 5/7/2018

Quote of the Week: Image result for end of school year quotes

Happy Tuesday!

Here is to a great week! We are on a count down at Hilsman. The classrooms and halls are buzzing with excitement as we enter the official last 9 days of school. Last week was filled with our field day events and everyone had a blast. It was great to see the students engaging in physical and healthy competitions. Our Connections Team did an amazing job of planning this event under the leadership of Coach Pullen and Coach Varnadoe!

We are pushing to end the year on a great note. If you missed the band concert last night, you definitely missed a treat! Thanks to Mrs. Camp for a great concert. Please join us tonight for the FFA Banquet, tomorrow for 21st Century Family Night, Thursday, for the chorus concert, and Friday at Cedar Shoals for Relay for Life. Yes, we are in the midst of another busy week.

I also want to encourage you to continue to speak to your child regarding their behavior. Our Panthers are super excited about the year ending. They are full of energy! Although we welcome the excitement, we want everyone to exceed our PAWS Expectations until the end of the year. If students violate the Student Code of Conduct, they could be in jeopardy of not participating in the end of year activities. Again, our goal is to end the year with everyone present!

Please stay tuned below to the Week at a Glance!

Thanks,
Principal Tolbert
